Mental Health
Mental Health concerns are at the forefront of many problems happening in this country today. This site will attempt to address several ways that people deal with stress, depression, and other mental health issues. Please feel free to use these resources whenever you feel like you're overwhelmed or just need to talk to someone. Also, don't hesitate to use these resources for a family member or friend that may be in a bad place, and you're trying to help them by just being a friend. Sometimes it's just a matter of listening. You may not hold any answers, but the power of listening can play a huge roll in someone's situation. Good luck.
988 is a national number that helps people deal with situations that may not be appropriate (or understandable) to family members or friends. Someone is always there to answer the call.
One of the things I've learned in the last couple days, is that "Drag" is an outlet for many people that have experienced difficult situations in their home life. This doesn't mean that we chastise them for being different, but instead do our best to understand what they're going through. Sometimes they don't have family to go to - sometimes, the family members shun them, disown them, or throw them out of their house, making circumstances quite complicated.
I have met a drag queen "Bianca" at a local event, and I've asked her to contact me about her situation. Drag saved her life. If it can save hers, it might save yours. If she contacts me (I gave her my contact info) - I'll record the conversation and post it here for all to listen to - so they can know the things she's had to overcome to survive.
If you think Drag is what will help you deal with your present situation, do what's right for you. Try and talk to your best friend(s) and try and find support to help you. I wish you the best!
